How to Use NestNote

• Getting Started: Create your account securely using Firebase Google Authentication. You will be asked to grant permission for the Google Drive appDataFolder—this is required so the app can automatically back up your notes to a hidden, secure folder in your Drive.
• Creating Notes: Tap the + icon on the home screen to create a new note. You can edit with rich text formatting, add custom backgrounds to individual notes, and schedule exact alarms to remind you of important tasks.
• Home Screen Widgets: Long-press on your device's home screen to add NestNote widgets. You can pin specific notes or use the quick-capture widget to instantly jot down thoughts without opening the app.
• Shareflow ⚡ & Per-File Password Lock 🔒: Easily transfer files across devices using our built-in Shareflow feature. Sign in to generate a 6-digit code or QR code to send files, or swipe to the Local Wi-Fi Server card on mobile for unlimited offline sharing. To password-protect a specific cloud file, tap the Lock icon (🔒) next to the delete button on any uploaded file and set a password (min 6 characters). Receivers will be prompted for that password before the file can be downloaded. Files are temporary and self-destruct after the timer expires!
• Stego Vault 🖼️ (Hide Secret Files in Photos): Open Stego Vault to embed up to 3 secret files inside a normal cover photo with an optional passcode. In the Hide tab, pick a cover image, select up to 3 files, optionally enter a passcode, and tap Generate Secret Photo. Always share the generated image as a Document / Uncompressed File (not as standard compressed media) so messaging apps do not strip the hidden payload. To recover hidden files, open the Extract tab, pick the image, enter the passcode if required, and save your extracted files.
• Organization: Keep things tidy by adding custom labels directly from the home screen drawer. You can also Archive old notes to hide them from the main view, or Delete them (deleted notes stay in the trash bin for 7 days before permanent removal).
• AI Features: To use the AI writing assistant, navigate to Settings and enter your personal Google Gemini API key. Once added, you can use the magic wand icon inside any note to fix grammar, change the tone, or rewrite your text instantly.

By downloading and using NestNote, you agree to the following terms:

• Data Responsibility: NestNote relies on your personal Google Drive for cloud backups. We are not responsible for data loss resulting from the manual deletion of the hidden backup file from your Drive account, or the loss of your physical device.
• Shareflow File Transfer & Password Locks: Shareflow is designed as a temporary file-sharing service, not a permanent cloud storage solution. Files and codes are automatically and permanently deleted upon expiration. When you lock a file with a Shareflow password, the file's path is encrypted client-side using PBKDF2 + AES-256-GCM and your password is never stored; NestNoteLab cannot recover locked files if you forget the password. Repeated failed unlock attempts are subject to automatic 15-minute security cooldowns. NestNoteLab reserves the right to dynamically modify data pool limits and expiration timers at any time to maintain server capacity. You are solely responsible for the content you upload and share.
• Stego Vault Usage & Compression Warning: Stego Vault embeds encrypted file payloads directly into cover images locally on your device. Sending a generated steganographic image through social media or messaging apps as a standard compressed photo will corrupt and destroy the hidden payload—you must send it as an uncompressed Document or original file. Because Stego Vault operates 100% offline with zero server storage, NestNoteLab cannot recover lost payloads or forgotten Stego passcodes.
• API Usage: The Gemini AI integration requires a user-provided API key. Users are strictly responsible for adhering to Google's API Terms of Service when utilizing this feature.
• Secure Offline Vault: Notes placed in the "Secure Vault" are intentionally kept 100% offline and are never backed up to Google Drive. If you uninstall NestNote, clear the app data, or lose your device, Vault notes are permanently deleted. You use the Vault at your own risk.
• Link Sharing & Import: NestNote allows you to share notes directly with others via files or links. You are solely responsible for the content you share and import. Do not share sensitive Vault notes unless you intend for the recipient to have full access to that text.
• Acceptable Use: You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer the application's authentication mechanisms, bypass the local encryption, or overwhelm the syncing servers with malicious traffic.
